The other one says, “Here is my Business Plan for a donut shop in the now vacant wedding cake store on the corner of Main and Oak Street. You will see in my Business Plan that I intend to offer hundreds of blends of fresh self brewed coffees and teas, using the new Keurig Brewing Machines, in addition to k-cups, muffins, cookies, brownies, and pastries to go.” I will need six employees, including myself of course, I intend to take a total hands on approach and be personally involved in my business, naturally.
Ask yourself this question. Who would you lend your money to?
Question Number Two, “What will happen without a Business Plan?”
Like me, do you get offers every day to join the latest and greatest get rich quick online scheme? Do they mostly say, “Hurry! Join now! Do nothing! No sponsoring! No recruiting! No cost!” But by some magic known to no one but the wizard of this wonder, we all get rich quick?
So let's say that maybe there is even an opportunity there? What happens to you, if you get involved with these things but have no Business Plan for going forward? Is the title of your Business Plan “Poke and Hope?” Your plan is to poke money at these “free” programs and hope one works? If so, it's very easy for anyone to see why these program developers just absolutely love you, eh?
Without a Business Plan, you are the first guy in the example above. You just want to own a donut shop, and are quite willing and even eager to throw money at it, which you will of course lose, naturally. So the next time I drive by your location, the store will be vacant, again, as always before.
